Glazes require significant time and energy to mix, sieve, and test. Materials will only continue to get more expensive.

Thoughtful glazing keeps our materials budget sustainable and ensures everyone continues to have access to the colors and finishes we love. Every scoop, pour, and brush stroke counts!

As a community guild, it’s important that we use our shared resources wisely. Before dipping or pouring, take a moment to consider where the glaze will actually be visible. For example, using a premium glaze inside a tall vase—where no one will ever see it—adds unnecessary cost without adding value. A simple liner glaze or even a clear interior can achieve the same functional result.
