Learn with us!

Pottery classes are a great way to relieve stress and enhance creativity while learning a new skill! Participants will get a thorough introduction to the craft of pottery making, have fun and interact with others while creating their own ceramic pieces from start to finish.

Registration process

Classes for fall 2023 are full and in progress. Feel free to check out our offerings below: they're representative of duration, cost, and class size.

Beginning Pottery Class

class description An introductory class for beginners, focusing on handbuilding in preparation for wheel work. Will learn about how to handle clay and how the clay itself works; includes building, trimming and glazing.

Intermediate+ Handbuilding

class description DPG is offering a small, intimate 3 class session on hand building specifically for members with guest instructor Theresa Wilson. These classes will focus on intermediate to advanced hand building pieces using a variety of both wheel and hand building techniques and clay mediums.

Handbuilding for Beginners

class description Consists of fundamentals of handbuilding, utilization of slab roller for slab work, using extruder, various tools and molds and combining slab work with the wheel. Also an introduction to using a wheel for thrown pieces. Students will create a number of functional pieces from pinch pots to a variety of platters and decorative pieces.
